Duties, Taxes and Customs Clearances
Please note: You may be subject to import duties, taxes, documents, forms, and customs clearances levied by your country or other overseas authorities once your order reaches your country. These charges are not included in the price and are not the responsibility of New Zealand Mint. You should contact your local customs office for further information on applicable duties, taxes, requirements, restrictions and fees. Learn more about de minimus thresholds here. Our Refund Policy applies to all completed web orders. Note: U.S. citizens who purchase goods over USD$800.00 may be subject to a formal customs entry and will need to complete a CBP 5106 form to receive goods.
Payment Terms:
We accept the following payment types:
Eftpos & Visa Debit cards over the counter - your daily spending limit is set by your bank. Please contact your bank to confirm how much you can spend. Cash - up to $9,500.00. Restrictions on cash transactions apply as per our obligations under the Anti Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act. Bank Transfer - your daily transfer limit is set by your bank. Please contact your bank to adjust this limit.
We do not accept credit card payments for bullion, and we do not have payWave on site.
Bank Transfer
Bank transfers must be made as soon as possible, and proof of payment emailed to us within two hours on the same day you accept the Quotation/Proforma Invoice. Payments not received in time will result in cancellation of the order without notice. If you have limits on transferring funds, kindly advise our bullion traders who will make an arrangement with you.
Quote Acceptance
You are required to confirm acceptance of the Quotation / Proforma Invoice within one hour of receipt by printing, signing and returning a copy to the Bullion Team to make it a legally binding contract and lock in your price. If you are unable to return a copy to us within the hour, a screenshot of your payment is also acceptable.
Availability
Bullion availability is limited and may become sold out depending on market demand. If this should occur and the bullion is not available to backorder, we will offer you an alternative product or refund any payment you have made.
Pricing displayed on this website is indicative only and subject to change. The availability of products and services may change from time to time. In the event a particular product is sold out, NZ Mint reserves the right to either process partial orders and make refunds or return orders in their entirety. NZ Mint retains title to the products you order until you have made payment in full for those products.
Ordering Goods
Orders can only be placed by people legally able to engage in a contract. Any order placed by you is an offer by you to purchase a particular product or service for the price (including the delivery and other charges) specified at the time you place your order. NZ Mint reserves the right to accept or reject your offer for any reason, including, without limitation, the unavailability of any product, an error in the price or the product description posted on this website, an error in your order and a failure in your payment.
Your ability to purchase products and services from the NZ Mint website may be terminated at any time by NZ Mint without notice. The products and services offered for sale are available only to individuals who can make legally binding contracts.
Email Notification
Upon receipt of your order, NZ Mint will issue you with a receipt by email to confirm your payment has been received. This receipt will confirm the items ordered, the total product and shipping charges and delivery address. This will not include any customs duties, local taxes or bank fees (where applicable). The receipt is confirmation that we have received your order, not a confirmation of acceptance or processing.
Shipping
New Zealand Mint deliveries must be to a physical residential or business address. Our carrier, NZ Post, may accept delivery to a Post Office Box, however you must confirm with NZ Post if you can receive courier parcels to your PO Box. Please include a daytime telephone number with your delivery details in case we need to contact you. All orders are sent from New Zealand Mint during normal New Zealand business hours.
New Zealand Mint reserves the right to limit quantities and may discontinue accepting orders at any time. NZ Mint reserves the right to accept or reject orders in any combination or option(s) at its sole discretion.
Overseas orders may be subject to import duties, taxes and customs clearances levied by your country or other overseas authority once a shipment reaches your country. These charges are not included in the price and not the responsibility of New Zealand Mint. You should contact your local customs office for further information on applicable duties, taxes, restrictions and fees.
Incorrect Customer Information
NZ Mint is not responsible for any customer input errors and/or typographical errors in your name or address when you enter it in the enquiry form.
The customer is responsible for verifying all information is correct before accepting the bullion Quotation / Proforma Invoice. When you receive your Quotation / Proforma Invoice, be sure you read it and if you find any errors, contact us immediately by replying to the return address in the email.
We use the address you give us when you place your order, shown on the Quotation/Proforma Invoice. We verify that the address given on your order matches the address on the shipping label before printing the shipping label and affixing it on your package.
If you have a typographical error, such as a wrong house number, apartment number, street name, and the like and do not contact us before your order is shipped, NZ Mint cannot be held responsible if your order is shipped with the incorrect information on the shipping label and you do not receive the package. We have no way of knowing a name/address is incorrect due to such an error, neither does NZ Post.
NZ Mint will endeavor in all cases to have returned any shipment that is not delivered, but if this is not possible the responsibility and onus remains with the customer.
If for any reason an order is returned to us with an incorrect address, customers are responsible for paying the postage costs to send it to the correct address once we receive it back. If we receive your order back as undeliverable, we will verify the address you gave us is on the shipping label and you will be contacted via email. Payment for the postage to resend the package to you will be due prior to re-sending your parcel. No refunds will be given if this occurs.
Returns
New Zealand Mint is dedicated to providing quality products and services to our customers. We hope you will like what you have ordered, but if something isn’t right, please let us know by emailing bullion@newzealandmint.com or calling our bullion team.
New Zealand Mint trades under the regulation of the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 ("CGA"). Nothing in these Terms affects customers' rights under the CGA. However, the CGA does not apply where products are purchased for commercial purposes.
The CGA states that goods must be of acceptable quality and match the description that we have given you. New Zealand Mint will repair, exchange or refund the original purchase price, any faulty or damaged goods that have been purchased online through our website, where the fault or damage is articulated within 7 days of receipt of the order (except for faults or damage which are not apparent within this period).
In the case of returns, please complete the returns form that came with your order or submit an enquiry here so we can assess and arrange a replacement/refund if necessary. A photo will be required for assessment in either case.
If your item returns to us due to non-delivery, delivery refusal or failure to provide required import documents we reserve the right to deduct any return costs incurred from any refund owing.
Please make your product selection carefully. In line with the CGA, New Zealand Mint is not obliged to refund for Change of Mind purchases. Unfortunately, you are not entitled to a refund where you have changed your mind, your circumstances change, or you subsequently find a cheaper price elsewhere. All website sales are final, subject to our obligations under the CGA.
Selling back to us
Our process can be found here.
As part of our obligations under the Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Act 2004, your full name, address, phone number, email address and a copy of your ID will be taken at the time of transacting. ID can be in the form of a current driver’s license, passport, firearms license, or other government issued ID.
Note: A Kiwi Access card (previously known as 18+ Card) is not an acceptable form of ID.
Payments are made to you by bank transfer in NZD or USD on request (if available).
For smaller buybacks in person, we may be able to offer a cash payment.
Kindly contact us to verify the availability of cash payments and enquire about payment lead times, as delays may occur beyond our standard transfer timeframes.
Anything we have sold we will happily buy back. We may also take other 999+ silver coins and bars, any carat gold coins, bars and gold jewelry. All items sold back to us are weighed and x-rayed. Gold jewelry buyback rates are determined by the purity and weight of each piece.
Whilst we strive to offer the best buy and sell rates, there are times when we are not able to purchase all product that has originated elsewhere and is not part of our range.
Please contact us to confirm what you wish to sell and the resulting price estimate. Any pricing provided is indicative and subject to change.
